IMG_3013

The Board has determined that access control will only apply to boats registered with Sandyport Security Services. Unregistered boats may continue to use the canal however will not be required to clear Security Control. All traffic passing through the canal inlet will continue to be subject to surveillance.

The registration requirements have been changed effective immediately and we ask that owners re-register in accordance with the following requirements:

  • Form SC-BR to be completed and submitted together with copies of the following documents:
    • Government ID (Such as Driver’s License or Passport) of the registrant
    • If the boat ownership is in a Company name, the share certificate issued by the Company in the name of the registrant
    • Boat registration document bearing the registration number of the boat and the owner information
    • Clear photograph of the boat including the registration number (if possible)

Security Services will issue a permit in the form of an ID Card that bears a unique permit number, the vessel registration details and name of the owner. Users of registered boats will be required to stop and present their permit when passing Security Control at the canal inlet. If an attempt is made to remove a registered boat without presenting a valid permit, Security Services will deny egress and notify law enforcement if appropriate. Therefore ensure that the permit is kept safe and apart from the boat whenever it is not in use by authorised persons.

The following policies apply to permits:

  • The expiry date is December 31st annually
  • Holders should report missing permits to Security Services
  • If a boat is sold, return the permit to Security Services for cancellation

2013 2014

The Holiday season is here again and it is during this time of year that criminal activity tends to increase. However we wish to assure you that we will continue to do our part to ensure the safety of residents and their property. There are a number of safety precautions the Security Department would like everyone to bear in mind during this season.

  • Call Security Services on 327-6943 to report anything that appears suspicious.
  • Monitor children and always be aware of their activities. Our Security personnel have had cause to deal with resident children damaging Association property, their time could be better utilized.
  • Be aware of your surroundings. When traveling home at night, be vigilant to ensure that you are not being followed. If you suspect that you are being followed, please  stop at the security gate. This is particularly important for residents who may normally utilize the automatic entry system – do not use it under these circumstances.
  • Drivers of vehicles with dark tinted glass should open their windows when stopping at the Security gate so that personnel can check that the occupants are not under duress.  When there are guests following you home, please give Security Services their names. Also, inform your guest to stop at the Security gate and not to enter directly after you.
  • Provide Security Services with guest lists for any upcoming functions in order to prevent delays or inconveniencing them.
  • Notify Security Services if your property is going to be vacant over the holidays, you may send instructions at our Going away service.

In conclusion, please be reminded that workers’ identification badges and vehicle decals expire at the end of December.

    2014 Assessment notice

    December 5, 2013

    Dear Owner

Following consultation with the Audit & Finance Committee at a budget meeting on December 2, 2013, the Board of Directors resolved that the Association’s Annual Assessment Fee for 2014 remain unchanged at $2.75 per square foot. This represents the 8th consecutive year without a fee increase, which has been achieved in part through a rise in revenues from newly assessed dwellings (4%), enforcement of financial penalties for transgressors and by continuing to exercise financial prudence.

The 2014 budget is attached and will be effective from January 1 however it may be subject to revision in the event that the Government introduces Value Added Tax during the year.

We are pleased to be able to extend the early payment discount of 3% for all 2014 Assessments settled in full by January 14th, 2014. The following conditions must be met in order to qualify:

    • Payment must be received in full by January 14th, 2014.
    • Any other balances associated with the account should also be clear by the deadline.
    • The 3% discount may be deducted from the 2014 Assessment only.
    • Note that Indenture Charges (applied to vacant lots) are not eligible for discount and are due on January 1, 2014 in full.

The following installment options will also be available:

    • Monthly – due on the first day of each calendar month, commencing January.
    • Quarterly – due on the first day of January, April, July and October.

You will soon receive your 2014 Assessment invoice and be able to select your payment option at that time.

    Yours sincerely
